Debra "Debbie" Lynne Furr, 55, of Bunker Hill, died Saturday, July 23, 2010, at City Hospital of metastatic cancer.|
Born Nov. 4, 1954, in Oak Hill, she was the daughter of the late Rose Catherine Downing and the late Marvin Jennings Johnson.
She resigned from working with the DDA population and the heart care field as a GNA/CNA/ medicine aide after news of her illness. She was of the non-denominational Christian faith. Debbie was an avid musician and loved playing her banjo and piano.
She is survived by her husband, David Franklin Furr, of 20 years, whom she met in May 1990, and married in Hagerstown on Feb. 15, 1991; three sons, Donald Johnson and wife, Crystal, of Charles Town, Steven Cobern and fiance, Lori Stewart, of Shawnee Springs, Va. and James Cobern and fiance, Dawn Fatkin, of Martinsburg; and five grandchildren. She also is survived by one maternal aunt, Mary Lou Shanks, of Oak Hill; and two cousins, Johnny Shanks, of Oak Hill and Cathy Thomas, of Newport News, Va.
Memorial service will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010, at their home at 130 Commonwealth Ave., Bunker Hill.

Betty Louise Seal, 70, of Inwood passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 3, 2021.
She was born Feb. 16, 1951 in Leesburg, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Earnest McDavid and Fannie Bell. Betty leaves behind longtime partner of 11 years David Furr; children: Denise Poling of Kearneysville, Preston Miller and wife Kay of Inwood, David Fox and wife Stacey of Winchester VA, Michelle McDavid Hale and husband Tim of Rockville, MD; Stepson: Jerry Dillow of Kearneysville; 12 grandchildren, one brother, 4 sisters, 4 great grandchildren and ,any nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Seal; sisters: Agnes, Ester, Lou, and Cora Lee; brothers: Buck, Butch, Howard, and Sonny.
A visitation will be held for Betty at Rosedale Funeral Home 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021. Funeral Services will be at Rosedale 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021 with Burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
