Ernest L. Whittington
      Ernest Linwood Whittington, 76,
of Strasburg, died Sunday, Feb. 25,
2007, at his home.
      Mr. Whittington was born Jan. 11,
1931, the son of James Lee and Jessie
Irene Jenkins Whittington. He retired
from Valley Milk Products after 16 years.
      He was an Army veteran and a member
of the American Legion and Moose Lodge.
      He was married to Ida Belle Elbon.
      Surviving are two daughters, Terry R.
Ryman of Edinburg and Sherry A. Bracklin
of Winchester; a brother, Howard Whitting-
ton of Fort Washington; a sister, Thelma
Purham of Woodstock; three grandchildren;
and five great-grandchildren.
      A graveside service will be 11 a.m.
Friday in St. Stephen Cemetery, Stras-
burg, with the Rev. James Baseler offic-
iating. Military honors will be accorded
by Shenandoah American Legion Post 77.
      Pallbearers will be Jerry Cook, Mark
Carter, Wayne Meeks, Ricky Beeler, Jack
Borrer, and David Orndorff.
      The family will receive friends from
7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Stover Funeral
Home, Strasburg.
