Ray M. Stokes
     Ray McDowel Stokes,
67, of Strasburg, Virginia,
died Wednesday, February
27, 2013 at his residence.
     Mr. Stokes was born Jan-
uary 23, 1946 in Shenan-
doah County, Virginia, the
son of the late Walter Lee
Stokes and Ethel McDowel
Smith Stokes.
     He was an auto body and
fender repairman at Roy’s
Auto Body in Stephens
City, Virginia.
     He was a member of the
Masonic Lodge, Strasburg,
     He married L. Mae
Stokes on April 6, 1964 in
Shenandoah County, Vir-
ginia. Mrs. Stokes died on
September 26, 2007.
     Surviving is a daughter,
Mary Elizabeth Stokes
Feathers of Strasburg, VA; a
son, Jeffery Allen Stokes of
Strasburg, VA; four broth-
ers, Donald David Stokes of
Winchester, VA, Charles
William Stokes, Sr. of
Strasburg, VA, Walter
Eugene Stokes of Strasburg,
VA and Roy Lee Stokes of
Stephens City, VA; and
three grandchildren, Kristin
Feathers Garrett, Michael
Allen Stokes and Randy
Levi Stokes.
     His brother, Kenneth
Edward Stokes, preceded
him in death.
     A memorial service will
be held 7:00 p.m. Monday,
March 4, 2013 at Enders &
Shirley Funeral Home
Chapel, Stephens City, with
Rev. Ron Sheckels officiat-
ing. Burial will be private.

L. Mae Stokes
      L. Mae Stokes, 64, of Stras-
burg, died Wednesday at her
      Services will be private.
      Mrs. Stokes was born June
11, 1943, in Wheatfield,
daughter of Fitzhugh Lee and
Elizabeth Kathleen Lin-
damood Pingley. She was a
      She married Ray M. Stokes
on April 6, 1964, in Shenan-
doah County.
      Surviving with her husband
is a daughter, Mary Elizabeth
Stokes Feathers of Strasburg;
a son, Jeffrey Allen Stokes
of Strasburg; a sister, Lola
Belle McDonald of Strasburg;
and three grandchildren.
      Memorial contributions may
be made to WTRM Radio, P.O.
Box 3438, Winchester 22604.
      Arrangements are being
handled by the Enders &
Shirley Funeral Home in
Stephens City.
