      Mrs. Zona Alice Davis, 72
of 600 West King Street, Stras-
burg, died about 5 p.m. yester-
day in Shenandoah County Me-
morial Hospital.
      Family details and funeral
arrangements were not avail-
able last night. The body is at the
Stover Funeral Home, Strasburg.

      Funeral services for Mrs.
Zona Alice Davis, 72, of 600
West King Street, Strasburg, who
died Monday at 5 p.m. in the Shen-
andoah County Memorial Hos-
pital, will be held Friday at 2
p.m. at the Strasburg Christian
      Interment will be in Riverview
Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Harry
M. Crim will officiate.
      Mrs. Davis was born Aug. 11,
1897, in Rockbridge County, Va.,
a daughter of the late David Ent
sminger and Nancy Ann Hartless
Entsminger. Her husband, Sam-
uel W. Davis, predeceased her.
She was a former employee of
National Fruit, Winchester.
      Surviving are one daughter,
Mrs. Edna Ritenour of Stras-
burg; three sons, Samuel L. Davis
of Ypsilanti, Mich., Alby D. Davis
of Southfield, Mich., and Charles
A. Davis of Guiana, South Amer-
ica; one brother, Albert Entsmin-
ger of Fairborne, Ohio; one sis-
ter, Mrs. Ben Stump of Stras-
burg; 12 grandchildren and two
      Pallbearers will be Johnnie
Campbell, Floyd Jenkins, Louie
van Sonner, George Bott, Alton
P. Taff Jr. and Clifton Wilson.
      The body is at the Stover Fu-
neral Home, Strasburg. The fam-
ily will meet at the Davis home
prior to the service Friday.

Samuel W. Davis
      Samuel Washington Davis, 64,
W. King Street, Strasburg, died
April 9 at 6:47 a.m. in the Shen-
andoah Memorial Hospital. He
had been in ill health for several
years, his condition becoming
critical last Friday.
      He was born in Lexington, Va.,
March 14, 1897, a son of William
D. and Corneleis Mudesphaw
      Mr. Davis was a member of the
Strasburg Christian Church.
      Survivors are his wife Mrs.
Zona Alice Entsminger Davis, one
daughter, Mrs. Edna Ritenour,
Strasburg, Samuel L. Davis,
Wayne, Mich, Alby Davis, South-
field, Mich., and Charles A.
Davis, Sumieton, Alabama. Also
nine grandchildren, and these
brothers and sisters: George and
Robert Davis, Lexington, Va.,
Mrs. Mary McDonald, Montana;
Miss Sally Davis, Washington,
      The body will remain at the
Stover Chapel, Strasburg until
Wednesday when it will be re-
moved to the Strasburg Christian
Church for funeral services at 2
p.m. with the Rev. Claude
MacDonald officiating.
      Burial will be in Riverview
Cemetery. Pallbearers will be:
Ray Reynolds, Grafton Mitchell,
Tommy Dawson, William Rhodes,
Jesse Mumaw and Perry Smith.
