On 1 Oct 1852 Reuben and Susan Peters gave their children Clara and Henry Peters 142 acres 'where we now reside' and all their personal property: cows, sheep, hogs, utensils, etc. The children in return would furnish their parents with 'good and sufficient waring (sic) apparel, food lodging and washing will protect attend to them in sickness and in every way to make them as comfortable as their circumstances will admit' both Reuben and Susan made their marks.
